Troubleshooting

Solve common issues with your SM-76C

Use this guide to solve the most common issues. If problems continue, contact Sole Mate support.

1. Machine Will Not Turn On

Possible causes

  • Power cord not fully plugged in
  • Wall outlet has no power
  • Power switch is OFF

What to do

  • Check that the power cord is firmly connected to the machine and the wall outlet.
  • Test the outlet with another device to confirm it has power.
  • Make sure the power switch on the machine is in the ON position.
  • If the machine still does not power on, unplug it and contact Sole Mate.

2. No Film Applying / Film Does Not Feed

Possible causes

  • Film roll is empty or installed incorrectly
  • Film is not pulled across the foot area
  • Film jam inside the machine

What to do

  • Turn the machine OFF and unplug it.
  • Open the film cover and check the roll: Replace the roll if it is empty or damaged. Make sure the roll is installed in the correct direction.
  • Pull the film across the foot placement area as shown on the machine diagram.
  • Remove any loose or bunched‑up film.
  • Close the cover, plug the machine back in, turn it ON, and test again.

3. Film Jams Frequently

Possible causes

  • Film not loaded straight
  • Damaged or poor‑quality film
  • Users twisting feet while the film is applying

What to do

  • Turn OFF and unplug the machine.
  • Remove all jammed film from the foot area and film path.
  • Check that the roll is seated correctly and the film feeds straight.
  • Replace the roll if it looks wrinkled, crushed, or damaged.
  • Remind users to: Step straight in and hold still during wrapping. Lift straight out before walking.

4. Film Tears Easily or Covers Don't Last

Possible causes

  • Very rough, sticky, or uneven flooring
  • Users twisting or dragging feet
  • Film roll damaged

What to do

  • Check the floor surface. If it is extremely rough or sticky, tearing is more likely.
  • Ask users to walk normally, avoid dragging feet, and not run.
  • Inspect the film roll for damage; replace if needed.
  • If tearing continues across multiple rolls and surfaces, contact Sole Mate for support and updated film recommendations.

5. Covers Feel Loose, Incomplete, or Uneven

Possible causes

  • Film not pulled correctly across the foot area
  • User moved during the wrapping cycle
  • Incorrect or non‑Sole Mate film

What to do

  • Turn OFF and unplug the machine.
  • Open the cover and check that the film is flat and correctly positioned across the foot area.
  • Close the cover, plug in, and try again, keeping your foot still during wrapping.
  • Make sure you are using official Sole Mate SM‑76C film.
  • If multiple users report the same issue, contact Sole Mate.

6. Indicator Shows an Error

What to do

  • Turn the machine OFF, wait 10 seconds, then turn it ON again.
  • Check for: Empty or misloaded film roll. Jammed or bunched‑up film.
  • Clear any obstructions and reload the film.
  • If the error indicator remains on after these steps, contact Sole Mate support.
