3. Installation & Setup
3.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove the SM‑76C and power cord from the packaging.
- Check that all items are present and undamaged.
- If you notice any damage, do not use the machine. Contact Sole Mate.
3.2 Placement
- •Place the machine on a flat, stable floor.
- •Provide clear space in front and behind the machine for users to step safely.
- •Avoid locations with excessive dust, moisture, or heat.
3.3 Power Connection
- Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position.
- Plug the power cord into the machine and then into a grounded wall outlet.
- Turn the power switch ON.
- Confirm that the display/indicator lights up, showing the machine is ready.
4. Loading and Replacing the Film Roll
Always turn OFF and unplug the machine before loading or replacing film.
- 1Turn the SM‑76C OFF and unplug it.
- 2Open the film loading cover.
- 3Remove any used film roll and loose film.
- 4Insert a new Sole Mate SM‑76C film roll into the holder.
- 5Make sure the roll is oriented in the correct direction (follow the arrow on the roll or inside the housing).
- 6Pull the film leader across the foot placement area as shown on the diagram inside the machine.
- 7Ensure the film is flat and not twisted.
- 8Close the film loading cover securely.
- 9Plug the machine back in and turn it ON.
- 10Run a test application to confirm the film feeds and shrinks correctly.
5. Normal Operation
5.1 Applying Shoe Covers
- Make sure the machine is ON and ready.
- Stand directly behind the machine, facing forward.
- Place one foot straight down into the foot placement area, keeping it centered.
- Hold still for about 3 seconds while the film wraps and shrinks around your shoe.
- Lift your foot straight up and out.
- Repeat the process with your other foot.
5.2 Best Practices
- ✓Step straight in and straight out; avoid twisting or turning your foot during the cycle.
- ✓Walk normally after application; do not run or drag your feet.
- ✓If a cover appears incomplete or loose, remove it and apply a new one.
6. Display / Indicator Panel
Typical indications:
- Power / Ready – machine is powered and ready for use.
- Low Film – film roll is nearly empty; prepare to replace.
- Error / Jam – film jam or other issue detected.
If an error is shown:
- Turn the machine OFF.
- Check for jammed or misfed film.
- Clear any film pieces and reload the roll if needed.
- Turn the machine ON again and test.
- If the error persists, see the Troubleshooting section or contact support.
7. Cleaning and Maintenance
Always turn OFF and unplug the machine before cleaning.
- •Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth lightly dampened with mild detergent or disinfectant.
- •Do not pour liquids directly onto the machine or into openings.
- •Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or high‑pressure water.
- •Periodically inspect the power cord and plug for damage.
- •Do not attempt to open or service internal components yourself.
8. Storage and Transport
For long‑term storage:
- •Turn the machine OFF and unplug it.
- •Remove the film roll and store it in a cool, dry place.
- •Cover the machine to protect it from dust.
When moving the machine:
- •Turn it OFF and unplug it.
- •Lift from the base or designated handles.
- •Do not drop, tip excessively, or drag the machine.
